Some of the most beautiful beaches in Istria and Croatia are on the Medulin Riviera. Medulin's beaches are truly enchanting not only for their beauty, but diversity as well. On the 80 kilometers of indented coastline characteristic for Istria there are sandy, pebbly and rocky beaches; bare rocks with no shelter from the summer heat or pleasant shade of centuries-old pine trees with their branches bending over the sea; bustling public beaches or almost Robinson-like isolation and privacy on one of the dozen or so small islands of the Medulin archipelago. So, the southwestern beaches of Istria offer something for everyone: windsurfing or sailing in the strong maestral, a summer breeze usually blowing in the afternoon hours, carefree children's play while building sandcastles, a group that is about to plunge into the big blue in search of an ancient shipwreck, or maybe you prefer mountain-biking along the stunning coast of nature park Cape Kamenjak with an occasional refreshing dip in its crystal-clear sea.

Whether you choose hidden coves with white pebbles, small or larger bays, or rocky sun drenched fragrant reefs, the pure and intact Istrian beaches are true wonders of nature. Though it has always been easier to capture them in paintings than describe them in words, you just have to think about them and the sight will emerge before your eyes.

While the sun is at its zenith, and the maestral wind (landward breeze) blows lightly over the pine-trees crowns whose branches yearn for the azure of the high seas, you can leisurely sprawl on a warm white rock in a hidden cove enjoying the sound of cicadas. Run your fingers through the pebbles sparkling under the crystalclear waters of the Adriatic, while your lungs fill with fragrances of the Mediterranean. Here, time is irrelevant.
